Come enjoy tea and snacks while you learn how to volunteer with TLC Farm!

Do you like working outdoors with kids? Looking for more teaching experience? Come volunteer as an educator with TLC Farm's Hands-On Sustainability Youth Education Program! Learn how to engage participants aged preschool through college in an interactive farm tour and hands-on activities and lessons focused on permaculture, sustainable waste management, natural building and more! This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience teaching and leading groups, public speaking and event organizing.

This training provides you with all you need to know to get started, including an in-depth look at the farm, tools for working with youth of various ages and backgrounds as well as games & team-building activities.

Bilingual Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to join us!

Community Hatha Yoga Practice

 Community hatha yoga classes focus on developing  our practice of several limbs of hatha yoga: meditation, pranayama and asana. Classes are taught by Liberty, resident and volunteer on the land. The yurt at TLC Farm is a beautiful space to practice, nestled in the woods and full of loving community energy. This is a perfect opportunity to pratice yoga in a non-traditional studio environment with your connection to nature and community built into the experience.

You may now purchase 8-week passes!

These passes may be used at any Awakening Creatives events including classes, workshops and other events. For more information and to purchase a pass, visit the Awakening Creatives website. A $10-$15 requested drop-in fee applies to all Friday Community classes.

Apple Celebration, Oct. 12, 2-5 pm

It's time to love up that best of fruits, th e apple, with a celebration all its own.  We'll be: pressing apple cider withour cool DIY apple press (which includes a garbag e disposal and a car jack), sharing our favori te apple songs  having an apple pie bake- off (bring your best pie!) making homemade ice cream with fresh goat milk, and touring our th ree orchards (which include many heirloom apple va rieties)  There will also be music a nd fun, friendly goats, the grand opening of theBack Perch of the yurt, and a general celebratio n of our broader community coming together.    You are welcome to give donations to TLC Farm at the event!  They are not require d, but always appreciated. As always, thereis no on-site parking.  We'll be runni ng a continuous shuttle from Riverdale Highschool (9727 S.W. Terwilliger Rd. Portland, 97219).  ; You can also bike or carpool!

Tryon Life Community Farm is bringing the Radical Mycology Tour to Portland!

Join the Radical Mycology Collective and Mushroom Jordan for a presentation on many simple ways to grow mushroom for personal, societal, and ecological health. This introduction to working with the fungal kingdom will cover the core skills needed to get going in successfully growing edible, medicinal, and remediative mushrooms. Skills covered include growing your own mushroom mycelium, inoculating logs, and installing outdoor mushroom gardens.

Come at 5PM for a hands-on mushroom garden activity!
