In a time where the environment is rapidly shifting due to climate change, now more than ever, it's important to support our ecosystems. Biodiversity builds resilience. The more biodiversity there is, the more resilient an ecosystem. Invasive species take over and reduce the biodiversity of an ecosystem.
At TLC Farm, we are actively working to remove invasive species and replant native species to increase the biodiversity on the land. Please come help us in this project series! There will be many work parties with this focus, as invasive species are stubborn and aggressive, which requires our persistence to remove them.
No experience necessary. This work will require light to medium physical labor and tasks can be adjusted to fit your physical abilities. The projects will include path clearing and/or invasive species removal, depending on the day and current needs of the land.
Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided, but if you have tools you like to use, please bring them! We will meet in the Village Green area by the outdoor kitchen, yurt, and composting toilets.
If you plan to come, please RSVP at engagement@tryonfarm.org
(If you like to live spur of the moment, you can come without an rsvp but it really helps us to get a headcount!)
Save the date for our next Land Tending work parties:
Wednesday, August 2 from 10 am-1 pm and
Saturday, August 12 from 3-6 pm.
Feedback and participation welcome! Please send bug reports to web@tryonfarm.org
