Goat Yoga (Postponsed 'til it is sunny!)

Registration is closed for this event
Join us for a unique experience of both nature and community. Tryon Life Community Farm is excited to host goat yoga with Tressa Yellig of Modo Yoga Portland. We'll gather for a short tour of the grounds before settling into an hour-long outdoor yoga class to ground and playfully experience the five generations of goats raised on the farm.
The yoga will be suitable to all levels of practitioners. We will move slowly and gently through a Hatha style sequence to stretch your body and make space to take in the sights, smells and sounds of the property. We do ask that children come accompanied by an adult (both are required to register) and be at least 12 years old, somewhat familiar with yoga, and able to focus for the length of the class.

Brenna Bell of TLC Farm will stay present to herd the goats and help manage anything that comes up. If you are looking to move your body outdoors and interact with some sweet creatures in a beautiful corner of Portland, then this class is for you. Please come with a willingness to be playful and curious to the experience as it unfolds for both the yoga and the goats. You are welcome to pet and snuggle the goats as much as you like, and in return they will snuggle, nibble, lean into and maybe even climb all over you.

Cost: sliding scale $25-$40

ALSO...FRESH MILK!!!  Brenna will have raw milk for tasting and sale after the class if you would like to purchase any while you are on the farm. Goat milk is naturally homogenized and easier to digest than cow's milk, so it's a delight to try and take home.

Schedule for the day:

1:45 Yoga Class
3pm goodbyes and goat milk

Disclaimer
Please know that this is a farm and although things are nature clean, they are not perfect. The ground is uneven and there's only shade at the edges of the meadow. There are bugs and birds and beasts that roam the grounds and you will hear them and see them. There are facilities available for use farther from the meadow, but you are invited to use the "facility- trees" as well. We will have water available to fill your water bottles if needed. The goats are curious and though they do not bite, they nibble a little and might tug at your cloths, hair and such just to explore and get to know you. If you need support, Brenna is around to help. They may also pee or poop near, or on, your yoga mat, so please be prepared to manage that experience. It is unlikely to happen, but you never know — we will not stop the class to manage your comfort level. We do ask that you are respectful of the fact that this is a working farm and a beautiful invitation to learn about the space and community that lives there, this is their home.
