Village Building Convergence: June 3rd-7thgreenhouse entrance redesign
Once again, we'll get muddy together as we participate in our 11th VBC; this year, we'll be hosting natural building work parties to transform our  greenhouse using cob and other building techniques to create both a beautiful community gathering place and also a sturdy thermal mass wall to help regulate the greenhouse temperature.  This addition complements our new ethnobotanical educational garden/ gathering area.

Join us for work parties Friday June 3rd through Tuesday June  7th,

10:00 am – 4:00 pm every day.

No natural building experience necessary!  As always, parking is very limited so please carpool or bike, or catch the shuttle that will be leaving from the VBC central venue (The Refuge, 116 SE Yamhill St, Portland OR 97214) a half hour before work parties begin and returning in time for the evening events. A simple, delicious, nutritious lunch will be provided!

Visit the City Repair site to get more information about VBC projects citywide and the evening events.

This year's Bloom will be a Festival of the Collectival: an opportunity to bring your creativity, your performance, your favorite dish, and your loved ones together on the land to share in one anothers' gifts.

From 2 pm to 9 pm, the land will be alive with different activities and offerings, including:

  • Medicinal Plant walk
  • Theater games!
  • Earthen Plaster workshop
  • Visiting with the baby goats
  • Open mic (share music, theater, jokes, etc!)
  • Opportunities to offer and enjoy workshops
  • Good food  - we'll provide some, and ask you bring a dish to share
  • Bonfire and dance party, with Owl Antique and Medicine Web

It's the Collectival that makes the Festival fabulous!   Would you like to perform/present/bring something or volunteer? Please contact Brenna at brenna(at)tryonfarm.org and let me know! Check out our Facebook Event, and invite your friends.
