August Applied Permaculture : An Introduction to Permaculture Design and its Applications

So whats Permaculture anyway? This one day class will provide curious minds with an introduction to permaculture principles, design philosophy and a variety of skills and techniques that can be applied in the farm and garden setting.

Participants will have the opportunity to get hands on experience with soil building, water catchment, plant cultivation and more at one of the most established permaculture farms in the Portland area. 
Vegan, gluten free lunch will be provided.
 

Ian Mae is gardener, herbalist, youth educator and land steward at Tryon Life Community Farm.  He received a certificate in Permaculture Design through a course lead by Toby Hemingway and has studied with Missy Rhoss and Gradey Proctor at the Arctos School of Botanical Studies.

 

The cost for this class is $50

Please let us know if you'd like to use our shuttle service which would leaving from People Cooperative Grocery Store in SE portland at 9:30am. There is limited onsite parking.  Please carpool or bike! 
 
This class is not a Permaculture Design Certification Course (PDC) nor do the class hours count toward a certificate.
